Identification
Three key points for a good battery.
- Read the appliance labelEmpty the transparent collector: behind it, on the body of the vacuum cleaner, the label indicates a model code which begins with SV (SV10, SV14, SV22…).
- Note the battery reference numberThe original battery label bears its reference (969352-02, 970425-01…) and its voltage, 21.6 V or 25.2 V.
- Check the fixingScrews under the handle: screwed-in battery. A red release button: clipped-in battery.
Fixing
Screwed or clipped on?

Screwed V6, V7, V8, V10 and early V11 (2019). Two screws hold it under the handle.

Clipped V11 since 2020, V12, V15 and Gen5. It can be removed with a single gesture, by pressing the red button.

Is a compatible battery suitable for my Dyson?
Yes, provided you choose the one from your generation: the voltage, connector and mounting are identical to those of the original battery.
My vacuum cleaner stops and restarts intermittently: is it the battery?
Not necessarily. These pulsations most often indicate a clogged filter or a blocked tube: clean the filter and check the tube. If the battery life remains very short or if the indicator light flashes red, the battery is the problem.
How do I replace the battery?
Screw-in battery: Remove the screws under the handle with a small screwdriver, then slide out the battery. Clip-in battery: Press the red button and pull it downwards.
How long should it be charged before first use?
Fully charge the battery, which takes between 3.5 and 4.5 hours depending on the model. The first few charge cycles will then allow you to reach maximum battery life.
